Time is flying and baby Ezra is now 5.5 months so all the joys of weaning have begun. Small space living means small space dining and small space weaning!
In this post, I’ll share my top picks of baby seating solutions including our current set up.
GREAT FOR TINY SPACES
Minui / Stokke Handysitt, £129

A personal favourite as this is the chair we used for Emelia and currently using with Ezra. It’s perfect for small spaces as it attaches onto your current high back dining chair much like a booster. Complete with harness, the slim profile allows it to be pushed under the table. The handysitt also folds flat and takes up very little boot space so can also travel and be used in restaurants too.
We bought ours over 7 years ago when they were produced by Minui, but they were made by Stokke until discontinued. There are still some stockists selling the model and you may also be able to snap one up relatively cheaply on the marketplace. Another great booster seat to consider in the Bud (£49) from Mamas and Papas. Complete with tray, it too can be strapped to your existing dining chair and there’s an activity tray available separately to keep little ones entertained between mealtimes.

GREAT FOR LONG TERM USE
Stokke Tripp Trapp, £178

Launched in the 1970’s, the Tripp Trapp is a popular high chair choice. Scandi design and beechwood construction, it fits right up to the dining table and can be adjusted to fit from 6 months to adulthood. Available in a range of colours and also a newborn insert which available separately.
GREAT ON STYLE
Bloom Fresco High Chair, £599

I love Bloom and their innovative products. We have used their mini crib for both Emelia and Ezra as they fit into the tiniest home and has built in castors so can be rolled from room to room. The Fresco would be the one to splurge on if we had the space to dedicate a high chair at the table. Height adjustable, customisable with a large range of colours, food tray, 3 recline positions and suitable from birth to 8 years. It’s also suitable for use at a breakfast bar.It does have a large depth of 68cm including the food tray so on the bigger side and at £599, it’s at the high end of the selection, but it really does look the part!
GREAT FROM BIRTH
Evolu High Chair & Newborn Seat £240

A clever 2 in 1 chair from Evolu that can adjust from childrens table height to full table height. There is a newborn seat attachment available so this high chair can be used from birth, recline and features a 5 point harness and removable safety bumper.
GREAT FOR TRAVEL
Phil and Teds Lobster High Chair, £70

For the family that dines out, this is a must have. The chair is very compact at 35cm x 34cm and can clip on to almost all tables and workbenches. It also comes with a handy carry bag making it easy to transport.
GREAT ON A BUDGET
Ikea Antilop High Chair, £12

At £12, the Antilop is an absolute bargain. Suitable from around 6 months to 3 years. There‘s a harness, built in tray table with raised edges which is great for finger foods and stopping little meals sliding off and onto the floor.
GREAT ALL-ROUNDER
Mamas and Papas Snax High Chair, £79

This high chair has very adjustable with 6 height positions, 3 recline positions and 3 tray positions. Easy to wipe clean and folds away for storage too. It has a generous tray size, deep seats and castors for east maneuvering.
